Paw Picked Pet Care: Service Agreement

  1. Service Agreement: By booking or using services provided by Paw Picked Pet Care, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. This agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between the Client and the Company.
  2. Scope of Service: Paw Picked Pet Care provides pet care services as explicitly requested and agreed upon by the Client, which may include drop-ins, walks, feeding, watering, and administration of medications supplied by the Client. Basic first aid is provided as part of standard services. The Company does not provide veterinary care, professional training, grooming, or any other services not expressly described in the service agreement. The Client acknowledges and agrees that the Company’s obligations are strictly limited to the services expressly outlined and that the Company shall not be held liable for any outcomes, damages, or injuries arising from services outside this scope.
  3. Client Responsibilities: Clients must provide complete and accurate information regarding their pet’s health, behavior, and special needs. Clients are responsible for supplying all necessary items for care, including but not limited to food, medications, leashes, and toys. Pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations and free from contagious illnesses. The Client acknowledges that the Company relies on this information to provide safe services and agrees that the Company shall not be held liable for any incidents, injuries, or damages resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, or withheld information.
  4. Payment: Payment for services is due in full prior to the commencement of the scheduled service, or as otherwise agreed in writing, such as weekly invoicing for recurring clients. Accepted forms of payment include cash, credit/debit cards, and electronic payments. If payment is not received as agreed, the Company reserves the right to refuse or suspend services. Late payments may incur a late fee of 10% per week on any unpaid balance. The Client remains fully responsible for any outstanding fees, including accrued late charges, notwithstanding any refusal, suspension, or termination of services.
  5. Scheduling & Cancellations: Appointments are scheduled within a two-hour arrival window. Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will incur a fee equal to 50% of the scheduled service cost, which may, at the Company’s discretion, be applied as a credit toward a future booking. Cancellations made less than 12 hours in advance will incur a fee equal to the full scheduled service cost, with no credits issued. All fees for late or missed cancellations are the responsibility of the Client and are due in accordance with the Payment Terms section.
  6. Property Access & Entry:  Paw Picked Pet Care shall not be responsible for scheduling conflicts or delays arising from Client actions or omissions, including but not limited to failure to provide timely access, last-minute schedule changes, or unavailability of building staff or concierge. In some cases, the Service Provider may wait a short period (e.g., 5–10 minutes) at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed, and the full service fee still applies if access is not provided. If the Service Provider is unable to access the Client’s home or property at the scheduled time for any such reason, the scheduled visit shall be deemed fulfilled, and the full service fee shall be charged.
  7. Liability & Risk Acknowledgment: The Client acknowledges that pets may behave unpredictably and that interactions with animals carry inherent risks. While Paw Picked Pet Care takes reasonable precautions, Paw Picked Pet Care cannot guarantee against accidents, injuries, escapes, or illness. The Client agrees to assume full responsibility for any injuries, damages, or losses caused by their pet to themselves, the Service Provider, property, or third parties. Paw Picked Pet Care shall not be held liable for any such injuries, damages, or losses, except as may be required by applicable law.
  8. Emergency Procedures: In the event of an emergency, Paw Picked Pet Care will make reasonable efforts to contact the Client or their designated emergency contact. If immediate veterinary care is required and Paw Picked Pet Care is unable to reach the Client, Paw Picked Pet Care may obtain treatment from a licensed veterinarian at the Client’s expense. The Company retains sole discretion to determine the appropriate course of action to protect the safety and well-being of the pet.
  9. Termination of Service: Paw Picked Pet Care may terminate or suspend services if the pet’s safety or well-being is at risk, if the Client’s behavior, failure to comply with these Terms, or unreasonable demands make providing services impractical, if fees for services already rendered remain unpaid, if the pet displays aggressive or unsafe behavior, if undisclosed health risks or contagious conditions are present, if applicable laws or building rules prevent lawful provision of service, if the premises are unsafe or unsanitary, if required care instructions or supplies are not provided, or in the event of emergencies beyond the Company’s control. Termination or suspension under this section does not release the Client from any outstanding fees or obligations under these Terms.
  10. Force Majeure & Unexpected Events:  Paw Picked Pet Care shall not be liable for any delays, cancellations, or interruptions in services caused by extreme weather, natural disasters, or other events beyond the Company’s reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, fire, flood, power outages, or government restrictions.
  11. Dispute Resolution / Governing Law:  This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. In the event of any dispute arising under or relating to this agreement, the parties shall first attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the courts located within Los Angeles County, California, and the Client consents to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
  12. Changes to Terms:  Paw Picked Pet Care reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms shall take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of services after any such changes constitutes the Client’s acceptance of the revised terms. Clients are responsible for reviewing the Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.
  13. Booking Agreement & Terms of Service: By booking or using services provided by Paw Picked Pet Care, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the Terms of Service / Service Agreement. The Client must provide a signature or electronic confirmation before any services are scheduled or provided. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of any updates or amendments to these Terms.
